"Wedding Vendors" Feature: Why Do You Need It?
Wedding planning requires managing multiple vendors like florists, photographers, and caterers. The "Wedding Vendors" feature helps you:
- Keep all vendor contacts in one place.
- Easily organize vendors by category (e.g., "Flowers," "Photo & Video").
- Track the status of each vendor (confirmed, pending, etc.).
- Store important information like service costs, comments, links, and contracts.
- Simplify communication by having all the details at your fingertips.
Example: You plan to hire a florist. With this feature, you can save their contact, upload the contract, and mark the status as "Confirmed" to remember the agreement.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. "Vendors" Card on the Main Screen
- On the app's main screen, you’ll find the "Vendors" card.
- If no vendors are added yet, tap the "+" button in the top-right corner to add your first vendor.
- If vendors are already listed, the card will display four names, prioritizing confirmed vendors.
- Tap the card to access the full vendor list.
Example: At the beginning of planning, you might add essential vendors like your planner, photographer, and venue to ensure quick access to their details.
2. Adding a New Vendor
- Tap "+" on the card or in the vendor list.
- Enter the vendor’s name (required). For example: "Photographer Anna Smith."
- Select the vendor's category:
- Default categories: "Venue and Catering," "Photo & Video," "Flowers," etc.
- Or create your own category by typing its name.
- Tap "Add Vendor" to save the details and open the vendor’s profile.
Why this matters: Organizing vendors by category allows you to quickly find the right contact. For example, if you need to confirm details with the florist, you can immediately open the "Flowers" category.
3. Vendor List
- The list shows all vendors, grouped by category.
- Each entry includes the vendor’s name and status (if set).
- Categories without vendors are hidden.
- Vendors without a category are placed in the "Other" group at the bottom.
What can you do in the vendor list?
- Add a new vendor:
- Tap "+" next to a category name to open the form with the category pre-filled.
- Edit a vendor’s details:
- Tap the vendor’s name to open their profile.
- Move a vendor to another category:
- Tap the "three dots" next to the vendor’s name and select a new category.
Example: Move "Cake by Maria" from "Other" to "Cake" to better organize your list.
4. Vendor Profile
The vendor profile lets you manage all details about your vendor:
- Edit name: For example, if you only entered "Anna," update it to "Anna Smith Photography" for clarity.
- Change category: Reassign the vendor to the correct category if needed.
- Track status:
- Pending: Agreement not yet reached.
- Confirmed: Agreement finalized.
- Rejected: Vendor is no longer considered.
- Add contact details: Include phone, email, or office address for easy communication.
- Add website or social links: Useful for quickly accessing the vendor's portfolio.
- Enter service costs: For example, "50,000 RUB for full-day photography."
- Add comments: Use for notes like "30% deposit required" or "Discuss photo booth setup."
- Attach documents: Upload contracts, payment receipts, or work samples. For instance, your photographer might send album templates.
Example: You’ve finalized an agreement with a videographer. Add their contact details, website, status "Confirmed," and upload the signed contract.
